Alexis Green, National Brand Engagement manager

Updated: Aug 29, 2020

This is Alexis Green.

Alexis is 38 years old. She is an only child and grew up in Mississauga, just outside of Toronto. Her dad is from St-Jean-sur-Richelieu in Quebec and her mom is from Trinidad. She moved to Montreal 10 years ago, when she got a job opportunity in Boisbriand that was originally supposed to be temporary. We will let you guess how that turned out.

Her path to the cocktail world is one of many roads. Alexis worked her way up form coat check girl to bar manager, passing by every front of the house positions you can imagine. She studied graphic design and advertising at the University of York in Toronto. During her studies, she was working full time as a bar manager in one of Toronto’s hot lounge of the time, where she was serving movie stars like Mick Jagger, Prince, Jamie Fox, etc. When she graduated, the group she was working for offered her a position in marketing, which got her to spend a good part of her 20’s in movie festivals, fashion weeks, and such type of events that the group was hosting in Toronto. If you didn’t know, Alexis dreamed to be an actress up until her 20’s, so imagine how amazing these years were for her.

At some point in her career, she got a job as the national event planner for Made With Love and this is where she really got into the world of cocktails. After a while, her job with Made With Love led her to work in sales with the Campari group. This gave her a real, 360° view of the industry which led her in turn to the job she has right now as a national brand engagement for Fever Tree Canada, which is kind of an hybrid between a brand ambassador, a brand manager and a traditional marketing manager.

Least to say is that Alexis Green as many tricks under her belt and is one of the most appreciated and professional people the Montreal community has. The piece of advice she has to offer to younger people starting in this industry is to really find a job where the people you work with believe in the same things you believe in. To look for the company’s culture before looking for a salary.

Meeting her was inspiring beyond measure and we wish her the best in her new position with Fevertree Canada! To conclude, we thought it was important to highlight that Alexis is quite involved in the community. She is the Food and Beverage Director for Let’s Bond, a black tied charity that raises money for mental health. She is also the co-founder of Whiskey and Women (who then became Spirit of Women Quebec), a group for women in the industry for sharing ideas, events, networking and supporting one another.

All of which is benevolent work.

A little bit more!

The three words that describe her best –

talkative / confident / loyal

Fun fact about her –

Alexis used to be a rhythmic gymnast

Her life moto –

Carpe Diem. No regret. It’s more of a reminder. She has it tattooed on her arm.

One thing she has done on her life bucket list –

She starred in a movie. An indie movie, but a movie nonetheless.

One thing she has yet to do on her life bucket list –

There are mostly places she has never been to that she really wants to visit. The Maldives or Asia for instance.

The biggest lesson her work taught her –

To be adaptable and go with the flow, because it is not in her personality at all. Like she says, sometimes you get a great idea, you are super excited and it just won’t happen. Then you got to let it go.
